ACCESSING YOUR
NEW WARDROBE
If your door frame opening is narrower and shorter than the inside of the wardrobe, it will limit the design that you select because access is constrained to the total area of the wardrobe.
You need easily access the space to install your new wardrobe and ensure you can access the items stored inside. To make the most of your new wardrobe consider having a builder open up the wall space (also known as ‘breaking out’) to give you full height and full width access to the inside of the wardrobe.
CHOOSING YOUR DESIGN
Never underestimate how much storage space you require for hanging clothes.
Don’t plan too much space for long hanging.
Most clothing items only require a hanging height of around one metre (short hanging) meaning that two levels of hanging can be easily achieved.
When adding drawers to your design, ensure that they can be accessed and pulled out easily without meeting any obstruction such as sliding doors or door frames.
